VIRTUAL: MAXCourage Essay Judging Non Sibi Project with Blakeman Hazzard Allen ’66

The thirty-third annual MaxCourage Essay Contest is a national and international contest that encourages students from diverse backgrounds to use their writers’ voices and share personal narratives about exceptional acts of courage in their communities and in their lives. Winning essays will be published in the annual publication, The Courage of Children: Boston and BeyondAdditionally, one student each year is honored as the National Contest Winner! MaxCourage empowers students to discover the value of courage and develop English Language Arts (ELA) proficiency. To learn more about MaxCourage's mission read here.

To register as a judge for this project, VOLUNTEERS MUST REGISTER ON THE MAXCOURAGE PORTAL BY FRIDAY, JANUARY 19th or your registration will not be valid. Please register here: MaxCourage Virtual Essay Judging Day. Enter "ANDOVER GROUP" in the comments section under Additional Information in the MaxCourage portal.

Please note that registering your name below is for the Office of Alumni Engagement tracking only and is not an official registration. 

Once you have registered both below and on the MaxCourage Portal, your registration will be complete. MaxCourage will provide the Judges Guide in their registration confirmation. Team assignments and essays will be shared in advance. Plan to allocate approximately 3 hours to review the essays before the virtual judging day.
